Maria organic is a cannery that works with products from artisanal and sustainable fishing. Using fresh fish from the Atlantic Ocean and the Iberian Peninsula.
They only use MSC certified sardines and Skipjack tuna, which is a non-endangered species. The mackerel caught in the Iberian Peninsula is an abundant and high quality species.
The fish is hand-canned one by one using traditional methods, following the ancient method of pre-cooking the fish, as opposed to the current and more industrial line of cooking in the can.
